Reward for gold medalists hiked

CHINA will hike the reward for its Olympic gold medal winners to 350,000 yuan (US$51,087) each, a senior sports official revealed. The reward from the central government is a 75-percent boost from the 200,000 yuan winners at the 2004 Games received, Xiao Shan, deputy director of the General Administration of Sports, said.
